New Suicide Squad BTS pics featuring Batman, Joker and Harley Quinn

09.01.2015

Suicide Squad David Ayer Jared Leto Margot Robbie Will Smith Banner

Principal photography for SUICIDE SQUAD may have wrapped up last week, however it appears filming for the comic book movie isn't 100% done yet. Etalk.ca snagged a few behind-the-scenes pics of the stunt doubles for Batman, The Joker and Harley Quinn while they were shooting in Toronto, and it seems they were filming the end scenes of Bats' encounter with the duo from the trailer, which we initially saw happening earlier this year.

Here's the site's slightly spoilery description of the sequence:

In the scenes, Batman breaks through the top of The Joker's car, as The Joker and Harley Quinn sit inside. As the car goes plunging into the water, Batman repels off just in time.

SUICIDE SQUAD will be in theaters on August 5, 2016.

Sigh...

The digital cape is clearly because its not especially safe to have a real one when filming on a moving car.

Havent we all seen The Incredibles?

The black capes are coming, the black capes are coming,...oh wait, shit. The black capes are missing, the black capes are missing. Now we know why Luther was calling for the red capes.

Cape

The cape wont be CGI 100% of the movie. They can make the cape do whatever they want, more creative freedom. Nolan did this too, reading the comments here it seems as if most of you have no idea that Nolan did this as well.

This is what CGI is all about.

No, Nolan avoided CGI like a plague. He even fought against the special effects department to keep it as practice as possible. But I will give this film one thing, Batman doesn't look to be 80% CGI like he is in BvS.

You're wrong, Mr. Moe, Nolan absolutely did use a CGI cape in basically every scene in which Batman rode on his Bat-Pod. In fact, Nolan did use CGI in all three movies, he just used it in subtle ways that aren't noticeable to the untrained eye. He didn't "avoid CGI like the plague." You think he really blew up bridges and football fields in the third movie? Come on!

My point was, Moe, you and most here had no clue Nolan used CGI in some scenes including every Bat-Pod scene, that's what CGI is all about, fooling you. Nolan minimized CGI unless it helped tell the story and having a cape violently flapping in the wind is more exciting and dramatic than the movement a cape makes being blown by an on-set industrial fan. Hopefully I'm getting my point across.

CGI cape = Nope

So they are obviously going to CG the cape in this and BvS and that kinda irritates me.

Were you irritated by the CGI cape in Man of Steel? I honestly couldn't see the difference between the real cape, and the CGI one. Could you?

The capes in the movie arent 100% CGI

calm down people. Maybe think that having a dragging cape on the back of a car would maybe be a "safety" issue

Haha, yeah yeah. But I thought in some action shots we'd get to see an actual cape, not CGI cape all the way.

It must be a bummer to find out you won the role of Superman or Batman and they're like "but you don't get to wear the cape." It's part of the fun of playing a superhero. I guess the millions of dollars and worldwide recognition is nice but c'mon...capes!!

In Man of Steel, Zod's entire costume and Jor-El's battle armor were completely CG. I honestly never knew until the special features.
