Radcliffe no Hobbit

Now that Peter Jackson’s THE HOBBIT is the next big fantasy epic to look forward to, casting rumors about who will fill the very small shoes of Bilbo Baggins have been swirling around Hollywood. And yes, I just nerd trapped anyone who immediately thought “Hobbits don’t wear shoes!”

One contender for the role has been Daniel Radcliffe, who knows a little something about the epic-fantasy-film-adapted-from-a-book-series genre. But when asked about it by the LA Times’ Hero Complex, young Potter says he wants a respite from the world of magic and wizardry.

“I’d have to say, ‘Thanks but no thanks,’ not that anyone has asked me…Honestly, I don’t think they would want me anyway, it’s just too close. Whatever I do next, I don’t think there will be any wizards in it!”

How about horses? Just kidding. Hero Complex ran a poll earlier asking who should play the title role in THE HOBBIT and Radcliffe came in third behind James McAvoy and David Tennant. In the interview, Radcliffe goes on to say that he believes McAvoy is far and away the best choice for the role, a statement that I profoundly agree with. Your thoughts?
