Sharp tongues and quick wit in the latest trailer for Roman Polanski's Carnage

10.11.2011

What's missing from this latest trailer for Roman Polanski's CARNAGE is the great moments of cussing that we saw in the film's first (presumably non-official) trailer. I know I've said this before, but there's just nothing like good, vulgar insults when they're played for laughs.

That said, this latest official trailer is no slouch and makes up for the lack of "asses" and "shits" with some great comedic build-up and a wonderful display of actor chemistry. Early word on the film has been great, which excites me all the more.

CARNAGE rages into theaters December 16th.

Synopsis: After two boys duke it out on a playground, the parents of the "victim" invite the parents of the "bully" over to work out their issues. A polite discussion of child rearing soon escalates into verbal warfare, with all four parents revealing their true colors. None of them will escape the carnage.

I would fucking love...

to, JUST ONE TIME, read an article about Polanski without someone bringing up his legal history. I'm not downplaying what he did, but Jesus. Get off your internet high-horse; you are helping no one. A simple "movie looks good" or "movie looks bad" would suffice. I'm really looking forward to seeing this movie, as Polanski is one of my favorite filmmakers.

So not supporting a rapists puts us on our "internet high-horses?" Yet you choose to keep giving him a paycheck.

When I spend money to see a Roman Polanski film, the money is not going into his personal rape fund.

"Get off my internet high-hore"... i don't care how good a person is at something, be it directing, an athlete, political leader, Doctor, or an average person, My integrity will never allow me to support a terrible human being. Go look up Paul Bernardo, and Karla Homolka. I just hope nothing ever hits close to home for you. If it ever does, i bet your tone will change when it comes to supporting someone who's committed such crimes against 2 people you knew. Think of how the victim feels (if

Think of how the victim feels (if they're still alive), and how their friends and family feel... It never goes away, EVER..

Especially when we read people supporting them in their life.

Society's F*cked

why is it when society forgives celebs its never based on the severity of the crime.
Polanski - Convicted rapist (13 yr old)
Snoop - " " murder
Tyson - " " Rape, & Assault
Rourke - " " Spousal abuse
T Howard - " " Spousal abuse
All forgiven
Gibson - DUI (Racist)

Not so forgiven

Didn't Gibson send his wife to the hospital from punching her in the face.

There were a lot of rumours about what Gibson did in that incident with his wife. however i can only say what the actors were actually convicted for. I wasn't at the house or present for any of it, so i try to judge soley based on the true fact of convicted felonies. Plus my point was simply there are celebs out there who've done far worse (sheen shot his wife) and people have a messed up way of choosing who's forgiven or who isn't.

No way I would've guessed this was a Polanski film. That being said, it still looks great!

I guess I'm the only one that thinks polanski's past should prevent him from making movies

Jojo, you're not wrong in that opinion, but sadly the world works in bizarre, grotesque and idiosyncratic ways. Because Polanski is, according to many, a talented director, he is allowed to still make films, despite running from the police for decades. You don't have to like the man. No one said you have to. The question is can you still watch his films without being horrified by what you know about him?

I'm all for separating a man from his art, just think this goes a little beyond that, but whatever, if people are supporting him, good on him

Not the only one by a long shot. Some people ignore the sins of talented people.

Definitely not alone in that thought, this man should not do anything till he's made up for his crimes.. I'm all for forgiving a person, but this man has done nothing make up for his wrongs. he fled the country, he was sued by the 13 year old and agreed to the settlement and didn't even pay all of (over 600,000$ still owing). I can not understand how anyone could support him or his films

While everyone seems to be jerking off over the Avengers trailer, this is the one doing it for me. This is my type of film. Can't wait.
