The DEADPOOL film is moving along in production and has started testing actresses to play the female lead opposite of Ryan Reynolds, who will star as the mercenary Wade Wilson. So far we know that the movie many of us thought would never see the light of day will be directed by Tim Miller (in his directorial debut) from a script by Rhett Reese (ZOMBIELAND) and Paul Wernick (G.I. JOE: RETALIATION). What we don’t know of course is who from this now released short list of actresses will take the role?
The actresses being considered are from left to right: Morena Baccarin (Homeland), Taylor Schilling (Orange is the New Black), Crystal Reed (Teen Wolf). As well as pictured below left to right: Rebecca Rittenhouse (The Red Band Society), Sarah Greene (Vikings) and Jessica De Gouw (Arrow).
It looks like a great mix of actresses to take on the role, I only wish we know what role that was exactly. I’m not well versed enough in the world of DEADPOOL to throw a guess out there as to whom they might be casting here. I will say that Morena Baccarin, who recently started playing Dr. Leslie Thompkins on Gotham, has my attention.

DEADPOOL currently has a February 12, 2016 release date and will start production next month.
