Kevin Spacey has signed on to star in the indie drama SHRINK about a therapist to the stars. Robin Williams, Saffron Burrows, Jack Huston, Griffin Dunne, Pell James, Robert Loggia, Keke Palmer, Laura Ramsey, Gore Vidal, Dallas Roberts and Mark Webber will all play Hollywood muckity-mucks who use the therapists services. But when the psychiatrist can’t come to grips with a personal tragedy, he loses faith in his ability to help his patients. A pot-smoking, self-doubting shrink kinda sounds like Ben Kingsley in THE WACKNESS but the WACKNESS didn’t have a Robin Williams cameo (and was all the better for it). The film will be directed by Jonas Pate (“Friday Night Lights,” “The Bionic Woman”) based on a script by Thomas Moffett. Spacey will also produce the film through his Trigger Street production company. Filming has already begun on SHRINK in Los Angeles.
