What happens when you mix R-rated movies, Pixar style art, and kids books together?

Josh Cooley has worked as a storyboard artist for the Pixar films THE INCREDIBLES, RATTATOUILLE, UP, CARS 2, etc., and when he finds time, creates some pretty cool pop art, including the book Movies R Fun, a compilation of images from various R-rated classics put into the form of an old school Golden book for kids.

There's a whole bunch of obvious ones in there and any film geek worth his weight should spot 'em easily, but that doesn't make them any less cool. Cooley only had 1,000 copies made and they are currently all sold out, so it may take some digging to find a copy. However, Cooley does sell prints from the book on his site, which you can check out here.

Below is a sampling of pages from the book.

See if you can get them all (you better!):

Extra Tidbit: I'd like to see one of John McClane wrapping a fire hose around his waist while on top of Nakatomi with the caption, "Oh, John, what the f*ck are you doing? How the f*ck do you get into this shit?"

Wow, those are pretty awesome! Although, uh, 2001 isn't actually R-rated. But whatever.

These are wonderful. Of all of the details, I can't help focussing on the dude's wonky eye from the Goodfella's pick. And haven't I seen these before? On THIS site?

"Now go home and get your fuckin' shinebo!" suggested Billy Batts

Next time I'm watching one of these movies I'm going to obnoxiously narrate them exactly like this.

I saw some images from this book online, and absolutely loved the idea. Darkly comic children's books are always pretty funny, and especially if the art is great, as it is here. ""AAAAAAHHHHHHhhhhhhh", answered Kane" is probably my favourite, because of how shocking that moment was at the time and how matter-of-factly the book treats it.
