Will it be announced at Comic-Con that Adrien Brody is Ant-Man?

Ant-Man has been one of those comic projects that we’ve talked a lot about.

Basically it came down to wondering if it would ever get off the ground. Then Edgar Wright swooped in and decided that he wanted to get the damn thing made. Earlier this month, Wright discussed his plans for the film. This was what he said, “I haven’t actually started the second draft yet–I’m not going to be able to until this film [SCOTT PILGRIM] is out–but what we wrote for the first draft, and what Marvel really liked, is that it’s funny, but it’s a genre film. It’s about the level of comedy that IRON MAN has. The idea is to make a high-concept genre film where it’s within another genre. His suit and its power is the big gadget and it takes place in the real world.”

Well, SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD will be released in the next 23 days, so looks like it will be time to get back to Ant-Man.

With SCOTT PILGRIM taking over Comic-Con, will Ant-Man get a special announcement too? Perhaps some casting news? There’s buzz from the Latino Review guys that Adrien Brody is being pursued for the role of Hank Pym. There was also talk of Ant-Man making a “small” appearance in THE AVENGERS film before the solo Ant film. It’s possible (or perhaps wishful thinking) that Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor might all make an appearance together at Con. While they may be pursuing Brody for the role, I’m not sure that he will show up and be like, “Yep. I’m Ant-Man.” However, Con is full of surprises.

What do you guys think?
