Strike Back below!

I wasn't a huge fan of I AM LEGEND but Will Smith and director Francis Lawrence's first collaboration was such a financial success why not do it again, right? THE CITY THAT SAILED is a high concept fantastical drama being developed by Lawrence with Smith set to star. Written by Andrew Niccol, the story will follow Smith as a New York City street magician whose daughter just so happens to live in England. The girl eventually discovers some magic candles while exploring a lighthouse and wishes to be reunited with her father, which causes Manhattan to break away and drift across the Pond. The idea is definitely promising, but is this being positioned as a disaster film or an UP-style adventure film? The idea of all those hipsters, junkies, queens, socialites, fashionistas, poppers, hustlers, and my brother stranded on their beloved island in the middle of the ocean is enticing, but where's the conflict? Can't wait to find out.

Sounds Amazing
I am a big fan of Niccol, Smith, and Lawerence, and this premise sounds intruging as hell. I can't wait!

Andrew Niccol's always an interesting writer. Love GATTACA, Truman Show, and Lord of War. This thing sounds out of left field even for him, but it might be good.

Everybody loves Will Smith. So do I. I'll watch this. I think they're not telling us something about the plot... "Seven Pounds" kicked ass.

I loved I AM LEGEND, ending and all.

Neat premise - regardless of where the movie gets taken.

Will Smith is the man.

That said, I want to see Lawrence's SURVIVOR and WORLD WITHOUT US already, dammit! This can wait in the meantime.

I wouldn't say it's really that terrific of a premise, but Niccol is an amazing writer (Lord of Ward was good but I like Gattaca even better), so I'm sure he'll make it work.

Intriguing
With Smith starring and Niccol writing, this just sounds awesome to me. I loved Niccol's Lord of War. This will make a shitload of money either way, but something tells me December would be best for it..
