Willis finds Surrogate

Just moments after his upcoming project , Bruce Willis has signed on to a replacement project. Willis has signed on to star in the Disney sci-fi thriller THE SURROGATES for director Jonathan Mostow. (There’s a joke about finding a surrogate project that’s titled THE SURROGATE but I’ll save you the cheap humor.) The film is based on the graphic novel, written by Robert Venditti and illustrated by Brett Weldele, that follows a futuristic society where people have surrogates, androids that humans can link with and control from an isolated location. When someone starts offing surrogates the police begin to investigate a fanatical cult that wants to return society to a time when humans lived their lives instead of just experiencing them. Michael Ferris and John Brancato, who worked with Mostow on TERMINATOR 3, wrote the script for the studio. Producing the film is none other than Elizabeth Banks, the actress you might have seen in FRED CLAUS and who just signed on to star in ZACK AND MIRI MAKE A PORNO for Kevin Smith. Production on SURROGATES is scheduled to begin next February in Boston.
