Last month Vin Diesel announced that Samuel L. Jackson will be back as NSA Agent Augustus Gibbons in XXX: THE RETURN OF XANDER CAGE, and now TwitchFilm is claiming that Jet Li, Tony Jaa and Indian superstar Deepika Padukone have been cast in the threequel, joining Diesel, Jackson and UFC star Conor McGregor.
While there's no word on Li and Jaa's roles in the third installment in the action movie series, the site is reporting that Padukone will be playing one of the "good guys".
According to Diesel, D.J. Caruso (DISTURBIA, I AM NUMBER FOUR) has been tapped to helm the planned film, and he'll be directing from a script by THE GAME and TERMINATOR SALVATION writers Michael Ferris and John Brancato. The project doesn't have an official release or production start date though, and it's also not clear if it or FURIOUS 8 will be Diesel's next movie.
