Emilia Clarke posts an emotional farewell to her Game of Thrones family

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

As much as many of us would care to avoid it, the final season of HBO's GAME OF THRONES is nigh. Okay, so the six-episode farewell won't air until 2019, but some of us need time to prepare, you know? While the show hasn't wrapped production on its final season just yet, some of its most prominent cast members are already penning farewell messages tothose they've come to think of as family.

In a recent Instagram post, the Mother of Dragons herself, Emilia Clarke, shared an emotional goodbye note to both the program's Northern Ireland island home as well as the "family she'll never stop missing." You can read her sweet sentiments for yourself below:

D'awww! I don't know about you, but I'm kind of hoping that HBO films the wrap party for this series. I'm sure that it would be just as emotional as the show itself, perhaps even more so. While it's not been confirmed as to whether or not Clarke has filmed her final scenes for the series, she recently revealed to Vanity Fair that she's concluded her part as Daenerys Targaryen. When asked to elaborate, she told the outlet, “It fucked me up…Knowing that is going to be a lasting flavor in someone’s mouth of what Daenerys is…” Whoa! Hold up a minute. Does Daenerys maybe go full-dragon in the finale? Like, complete transformation style? That would be completely insane! I suppose we'll just have to wait until the final season of GAME OF THRONES arrives sometime in 2019 to find out.
