Even though 1408, starring John Cusack and Samuel L. Motherf*ckin’ Jackson, doesn’t open until June 22, it’s not too early to start talking about the DVD. According to Bloody Disgusting, we can expect an alternate ending that will be significantly darker than the one we’ll be seeing in the theater (this doesn’t mean the conclusion that made the cut will be a “light” affair by any means). There will be a bunch of deleted scenes as well, but what self-respecting DVD doesn’t have some of those nowadays?

Also, if you head on over to MSN, there’s a featurette on the making of this kooky-lookin flick.

Finally, Shock Till You Drop had a few words with producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura regarding Eli Roth’s brief involvement with the project. Apparently, Roth’s vision was “madness” and too bloody. My god what a surprise!

Mary McCormick checks into 1408
