3 from Hell image shows Emilio Rivera as leader of The Black Satans

When writer/director Rob Zombie would share images of his 3 FROM HELL cast member Emilio Rivera (who even got his own character poster a while back) on his Instagram account, he would include the tag #TheBlackSatans, kicking off speculation that these Black Satans must be some kind of group featured in the film. That seemed to be confirmed by the title of a track composed by Zeuss for the film's score, "Black Satans Attack".

We didn't know it at the time, but the luchadors featured on the artwork for the score/soundtrack vinyl release are apparently the Black Satans, with the machine gun wielding luchador glimpsed in the trailer (and pictured above) being part of the group as well.

This realization hits us thanks to Zombie's latest Instagram post, which shows Rivera wearing a luchador mask and toting a machine gun. Zombie captioned the image:

So it seems Aquarius wears a black mask and a black suit, while his lackeys wear red masks and white suits. And that's a good question, Mr. Zombie – how does a gang of luchadors fit into 3 FROM HELL?

I guess we'll have to wait until September to find out, when Lionsgate, Saban Films, and Fathom Events bring 3 FROM HELL to theatres for a three-night event. 3 FROM HELL will be showing on the big screen on September 16th, 17th, and 18th. We should have more details on that event when tickets go on sale two weeks from today.

Rivera is joined in the cast of this sequel to HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES and THE DEVIL'S REJECTS by returning franchise stars Bill Moseley, Sheri Moon Zombie, and Sid Haig (as Otis, Baby, and Captain Spaulding), as well as Richard Brake, Danny Trejo, Daniel Roebuck, Clint Howard, Austin Stoker, Jeff Daniel Phillips, Richard Edson, David Ury, Dee Wallace, Pancho Moler, Tom Papa, Dot-Marie Jones, Richard Riehle, Kevin Jackson, Billy Blair, Steven Michael Quezada, Bill Oberst Jr., Sylvia Jefferies, Sean Whalen, Chaz Bono, Barry Bostwick, and Jossara Jinaro.
