Two weeks ago we learned of Teresa Palmer joining Charlize Theron and Tom Hardy in the cast of George Miller’s 4th MAD MAX film, entitled FURY ROAD. Well, how about another 3 names being tossed into the mix?!?
The Hollywood Reporter has just informed that Nicholas Hoult has signed onto the project, with fellow thespians Zoe Kravitz and Adelaide Clemens (pictured right) in current negotiations to do the same.
Hoult, who recently appeared in Tom Ford’s A SINGLE MAN, not only stars in the British TV show “Skins,” but will also be seen in Louis Leterrier’s CLASH OF THE TITANS in April.
Zoe Kravitz, daughter of Lenny Kravitz and Lisa Bonet, has three films slated for 2010 release, including Joel Schumacher’s TWELVE (which premiered at this year’s Sundance Festival).
Primarily steeped in television, Adelaide Clemens had a small role in last year’s X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE, and can be seen in the new Hanks/Spielberg HBO mini-series “The Pacific.”
FURY ROAD is set a short while after the story detailed in 1985’s MAD MAX BEYOND THUNDERDOME which keeps Mad Max, the character originated by Mel Gibson, relatively young. Details are being kept quiet, but it is known that Hoult’s character is named Nux. Kravitz, whose character’s name is Five Wives, (Teresa) Palmer and Clemens are in a convoy being chased by bad guys.
A character named Five Wives? Ah, that’s too good!
One thing is definitely noticeable with these recent casting announcements: Miller is consciously going young this time out. Of course, I don’t give shite…as long as my girl Charlize ain’t bumped off screen, I can dig it.
Thoughts on these announcements?
The lovely Ms. Zoe Kravitz!
