30 Days 2 director

Because if there’s anything we don’t have enough of in popular culture these days, it’s vampires, hence why a sequel to 30 DAYS OF NIGHT seems like a well timed idea to someone. Bloody Disgusting is reporting that Ben Ketai is being tapped to direct the project, officially titled 30 DAYS OF NIGHT: DARK DAYS, which will be competitng for the “redundant subtitle” award at next year’s Oscars.

The film follows Stella Oleson once again (though she’s being recast from Melissa George this time) as she joins up with a group of vampire hunters to kill Lilith, the bloodsucker responsible for the attack on her town in the first movie.

You probably haven’t heard of Ketai, but he wrote two 30 DAYS miniseries titled BLOOD TRAILS and DUST TO DUST, so he’s definitely familiar with the source material. But really, do you think this will make it to theaters? All the pieces are there (complete recasting, stupid subtitle) for a straight to DVD release, but perhaps there are more people clamoring to see this than I’m assuming.
