Marvel has announced that David Wenham will star alongside Finn Jones and Colleen Wing in Netflix's Iron Fist series. THE LORD OF THE RINGS and 300 actor has been cast as Harold Meachum, "a ruthless corporate leader who was partners with Danny Rand’s parents at the time of their deaths. What role he plays in Danny’s past and future will be revealed over the course of the series."
In a statement, executive producer and showrunner Scott Buck said, "I’m very excited to have David as our Harold Meachum. David is capable of displaying raw, visceral strength as well as extremely keen intelligence. This will add up to a character of complex depth who will keep us off balance all season."
Marvel TV head Jeph Loeb also added that "David brings both a vulnerability and a danger to his many diverse roles. This key quality creates a gravitas our series requires as Danny unravels the secrets behind Rand Enterprises."
Wenham can be seen next in Garth Davis' LION on November 26, 2016, and he also has a role in PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES, which is scheduled to open on May 26, 2017. As for Iron Fist, a release date hasn't been announced yet, however it will more than likely be available on Netflix sometime next year.
