Inde Navarrette will host the Halloween episode of Saturday Night Live

And starring…Inde Navarrette!

What a year it’s been for Inde Navarrette. Her breakthrough film, Obsession, lives up to its name as the movie becomes the very obsession of the internet with memes and clips being shared. Her breakthrough performance has given her career an amazing boost, including business meetings with Jake Schreier and Michael Mann. She’s lined up new small projects while being announced as Rogue in the upcoming MCU X-Men movie. She’s the current “It” girl. It’s a natural step that she would eventually host an episode of Saturday Night Live. And the Halloween episode at that.

According to Variety, the sketch comedy institution has announced its upcoming slate of hosts and musical guests for its upcoming 52nd season. Navarrette has been revealed to host the October 31 episode of SNL and she’ll be joined by musical guest Gracie Abrams. Abrams will be making her second appearance on the show this year after the release of her most recent album, Daughter From Hell.

Upcoming SNL Hosts

Other hosts that have been announced this year include Jalen Brunson, of the New York Knicks, with musical guest Katseye, Dakota Johnson and hardcore rock band Turnstile, and Shane Gillis returns for a third time hosting, with musical guest Rosalía.

Navarrette’s New Project

It was also recently announced that Navarrette is set to star in The Waffle House Index, which is a sci-fi thriller that has been picked up by Apple Original Films, with Brad Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment producing. Navarrette will also executive produce the movie, marking her first producing credit.

The title refers to a real-world informal measurement of hurricane severity based on how much service a Waffle House restaurant is able to provide during extreme weather. A green designation means the restaurant is operating normally, yellow means it is operating with a limited menu because of supply problems, and red means the restaurant has closed due to unsafe conditions.

But the movie takes that concept in a more outlandish direction.

Navarrette will play a Waffle House waitress whose already bad day gets worse when a stranger with a gun shows up during her night shift. What happens after involves a mass flood, killer crocodiles, a nuclear explosion, a magical bunker under the Waffle House, and aliens.
