Damn, and I thought I’d seen everything! At least, everything regarding the original MY BLOODY VALENTINE. I always had the feeling that the 1981 flick could have been just a little… bloodier. And today I’ve learned that my initial inkling was actually dead on. In fact, what I had in mind was actually on the milder side of this new reality.
What the hell am I talking about? Well, with the forthcoming release of the Director’s Cut of the original MY BLOODY V on DVD this January 13th, a huge crop of stills from the added, extra gory footage has surfaced! And I’ve gotta say, the new, unrated scenes definitely don’t disappoint in the violence department. Just check out that shot of impaled cleavage up top. I can’t wait to check these images out in their entirety on the Director’s Cut of MBV. And the disc just so happens to coincide with the release of the BLOODY VALENTINE remake. How perfect.
