Hoax Matt Allen Brian Thompson

Brian Thompson is a prolific character actor with over 100 credits to his name, the notable projects he has been involved with including THE TERMINATOR, FRIGHT NIGHT PART 2, episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The X-Files, MORTAL KOMBAT: ANNIHILATION, and a few different Star Trek projects… But whenever I think of him, the image in my mind will always be from the end of COBRA, where Thompson holds a large knife while taunting Sylvester Stallone by repeatedly referring to him as a pig.

In just a few weeks, Thompson will be seen in a film called HOAX. The feature directorial debut of Matt Allen, who also wrote the script with Scott Park, HOAX has the following synopsis:

An investigative team travels deep into the remote Colorado wilderness after a group of young campers are viciously murdered by what may be Bigfoot. While the highly specialized crew searches for evidence, they find themselves in a fight for survival against the legendary beast. What they encounter turns out to be more unexpected and dangerous than anything they could have ever imagined.

Thompson's co-stars in this Bigfoot horror story include Ben Browder, Cheryl Texiera, Shoshana Bush, Hutch Dano, Matt Reidy, Anthony Ray Parker, Christopher Soren Kelly, Ryan Lee, Max Decker, Brian Landis Folkins, Karen Slack, Shawn Rickel, and genre icon Adrienne Barbeau.

Produced by Allen, Mitch Dickman, and Michael Haskins, HOAX will be receiving a VOD and Blu-ray release on August 20th, courtesy of Epic Pictures. Copies of the region free Blu-ray can be pre-ordered directly from Epic-Pictures.com. Special features include two commentaries and multiple featurettes.

A trailer for HOAX has been released online and can be seen below. Check it out and see if this is a movie you'd like to watch next month.
