Halloween 4

High on the list of horror movie locations I would love to live in is the Carruthers house from HALLOWEEN 4 and 5. Something about that place has always been really appealing to me. Now that house is on the market… But a bit out of my price range at $879,900.

Standing at 509 E 3rd Ave N in Salt Lake City, Utah, the house has 4 bedrooms, 2.25 bathrooms, and the history that iconic slasher has been in it a couple times, little Jamie Lloyd stabbed her adoptive mother in one of the bathrooms, and Rachel Carruthers was killed in one of the bedrooms. Danielle Harris stood at the top of a staircase while holding scissors in a threatening manner, and a gun-wielding Donald Pleasence had a breakdown on the stairs.

The minute you step foot into this fully renovated Victorian, you know you are home. This thoughtful renovation proves that you can have a perfect collaboration of Victorian meets modern. Gorgeous grand entrance and staircase, opening into Formal Living and Dining space. Stunning open gourmet kitchen with ample bar seating as well as informal dining space and the rare but wonderful butlers pantry adding prep, storage and counter space to your kitchen. Ample storage in the basement and Garage. Sitting porch. Updated electrical and plumbing. Walk across the street to Publik for some coffee and toast, or a short walk to Cucina or The Bistro for an Avenues dining experience. Also a short walk to Grocery, Spa, University of Utah.

Hopefully this house will go to a movie fan who can appreciate its place in horror history. If you can make it to Salt Lake City to check it out, free tours of the house and property can be arranged through Redfin.com.

If, like me, you can neither afford this place or manage to make a trip to Salt Lake City anytime soon, there are 31 pictures of the exterior, interior, and property to be seen on Redfin.

The most recent owner has painted nearly every inch of it a blinding white. So not only would I have to pay $879,900 to own the place, I'd then have to thrown in more money on top of that to restore it to the way it looked in 1988 / '89. Starting with a coat of red paint on the now-white exterior.
