Blumhouse producing supernatural thriller pilot Run for Your Life

Andrew Jacobs Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones

Universal Television and Blumhouse Television are teaming up to produce a pilot for a supernatural thriller series based on an original idea from Lee Metzger, executive producer of the singing competition show The Voice. Titled Run for Your Life, the pilot is set

on the last night of Dia de Los Muertos, otherwise known as the Day of the Dead. A grieving detective is thrust into a deadly game to bring someone back from the dead.

A cast consisting of Josh Seggara, Andrew Jacobs (pictured above in PARANORMAL ACTIVITY: THE MARKED ONES), Carlos Leal, Danube Hermosillo, Angela Alvarado, Jennifer Landon, Kadeem Hardison, and Fernanda Andrade has already been assembled for the pilot, which will be directed by Patricia Riggen from a script by Chris Cullari and Jennifer Raite.

Run for Your Life is being executive produced by Blumhouse's Jason Blum, Jeremy Gold, Marci Wiseman, and Jessica Rhoades, with Riggen, Cullari, and Raite co-executive producing.

Cullari and Raite created, directed, and produced the YouTube Reb mini-series 12 Deadly Days, which was also executive produced by Blum.

I don't have a YouTube Red account, so I haven't seen 12 Deadly Days, and there's not much to go on with Run for Your Life yet, but Blumhouse is such a major name in the horror genre these days that anything they're involved with is worth paying attention to.

The pilot order was made by the Entertainment Networks Group of NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment. If Run for Your Life is ordered to series, it's likely to air on either Syfy or USA Network. Or, like Blumhouse's upcoming Purge TV series, it could air on both channels.
