Dead Again in Tombstone Danny Trejo Roel Reine

2013's DEAD IN TOMBSTONE is a film I have been meaning to get around to watching for four years now. It's an action / horror Western about an outlaw played by Danny Trejo who makes a deal with the Devil, played by Mickey Rourke, so he can get revenge on the man who murdered him – Anthony Michael Hall as Trejo's own half-brother. That's absolutely a must-see in my book, there's no way I'm going to miss out on watching a movie that can be described that way. I just haven't found the time to watch it yet.

I need to get on with it, because tomorrow, September 12th, Universal is going to be releasing a sequel to DEAD IN TOMBSTONE on Blu-ray and DVD.

DEAD IN TOMBSTONE director Roel Reiné returned to the helm for the follow-up, which is titled DEAD AGAIN IN TOMBSTONE. Scripted by Ethan Wiley, the writer of HOUSE and HOUSE II: THE SECOND STORY, the film has the following synopsis:

The devil's outlaw and reluctant servant, Guerrero (Danny Trejo) returns from the dead again in this action-packed western which promises to be one hell of a ride. Guerrero is forced to protect a stolen relic from getting into the hands of Jackson Boomer (Jake Busey) and his gang of soldiers, but Jackson will stop at nothing to raise his comrades from the dead and bring the wrath of hell upon earth. Guerrero must use all his dark powers in order to defeat Jackson and find redemption… or die again trying.

Sounds like a good time to me. I'm going to have to have a DEAD IN TOMBSTONE / DEAD AGAIN IN TOMBSTONE double feature before this week is over.

Before DEAD AGAIN hits store shelves tomorrow, we have an EXCLUSIVE clip from the film that shows Trejo in action, participating in a shootout and killing a whole lot of people. As Busey comments, it is quite a spectacle to observe.

If you'd like to pick up a copy of DEAD AGAIN IN TOMBSTONE yourself, you can order it on Amazon.
