Netflix has summoned a Castlevania Season 4 renewal

Netflix, Castlevania, anime, Season 4

Every now and then, a spot of great news will travel beneath our radar. Thankfully, some information is simply too delightful that to try and banish it to the darker corners of a weekly news cycle is a fool's errand. Last week, it was announced that Netflix's CASTLEVANIA anime has been renewed for a fourth season. The news was announced via Netflix's official Twitter account, and was accompanied by a brief clip from Season 3, in which Devil Forgemaster Isaac gazes into his magic mirror.

No further details regarding the premiere date or episode count for the fourth season of CASTLEVANIA have been revealed at this time. Chances are that we won't be seeing it anytime soon, given that each season of the anime has taken many months to bring to fruition. If I were to guess, I'd say that new episodes will likely hit in mid to late 2021.

The anime series is based on Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse from 1989 for the Nintendo Entertainment System, and holy cats is it ever stuffed with Castlevania goodness! There's no bones about it, CASTLEVANIA is without question one of the most legit adaptations I've ever seen, and it only gets better with each and every episode. If you're a fan of the game series but have yet to check out the first three seasons of the show, I highly recommend that you sink your fangs into that business? If a fear of Netflix besmirching Castlevania's good name is your concern, I'm here to tell you that you have absolutely nothing to worry about. The show is quite reminiscent of other animes like VAMPIRE HUNTER D or BLOOD+, with all the bits and bobs that have made Castlevania such a legendary franchise for so many generations.

We'll be sure to bring you more updates on CASTLEVANIA: Season 4 as the show develops.
