Jamie Lee Curtis faces her fate in new poster for Halloween

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

The new HALLOWEEN film is mere days away from premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival, so we'll soon find out whether or not David Gordon Green and Danny McBride have managed to pull off the rare feat of the long-belated sequel which stands toe-to-toe with the original. HALLOWEEN will be following directly in the footsteps of John Carpenter's original film as it's chosen to ignore the franchise's numerous sequels. Jamie Lee Curtis will be returning to reprise her role of Laurie Strode, who has spent the past four decades preparing for the inevitable return of Michael Myers after surviving his horrific massacre all those years ago.

Michael Myers and Laurie Strode are featured in the latest poster for HALLOWEEN, which you can check out below, but that's not all as a brand-new trailer for the upcoming film will be released tomorrow as well. I can't wait!

Our own JimmyO recently chatted with The Shape himself, Nick Castle, who said that the film will serve as somewhat of a battle to the death between Laurie and Michael. "That's the way they are playing it. And what I liked about it too, they are not going to tell you a lot about why this, and when this, and what is his motivation and why is he after [Laurie]," Castle said. "Let the audience, as they did in the first one, kind of fill in the psychology of Michael. In some ways, it's just the mystery of it all that adds to the mystic of the character and the enjoyment of the film." You can check out the rest of the interview right here.

The official synopsis for HALLOWEEN:

Jamie Lee Curtis returns to her iconic role as Laurie Strode, who comes to her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago.

HALLOWEEN will debut at the Toronto International Film Festival this September before hitting theaters on October 19, 2018.
