If you're headed to San Diego Comic-Con this weekend, you might want to keep your eyes peeled for the new HALLOWEEN poster that's an exclusive for the annual event. Created by acclaimed artist Bill Sienkiewicz, the poster features The Shape a.k.a. Michael Meyers readying his weapon of choice for a fresh kill. For the poster, Meyers' visage is shown from an upward angle, giving me the impression that we're seeing him through the eyes of his latest victim. The poster also sports a stylish new logo that is quite the departure from the franchise's original ITC Serif Gothic typeface presentation.
In the film, Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) comes to her final confrontation with Michael Myers (Nick Castle), the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago.

Starring in the film alongside Curtis are Judy Greer (ANT-MAN, 13 GOING ON 30) as Laurie's daughter, Karen Strode, Miles Robbins (BLOCKERS), Virginia Gardner (TELL ME HOW I DIE, TV's RUNAWAYS), Will Patton (ARMAGEDDON, NO WAY OUT), Toby Huss (RESCUE DAWN), Dylan Arnold (MUDBOUND), Jefferson Hall (SHERLOCK HOLMES, TV's GAME OF THRONES), and Andi Matichak (TV's ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK).
Legendary horror icon John Carpenter will executive produce and serve as creative consultant on the film, in a partnership with Jason Blum (GET OUT, THE PURGE). Additionally, the new film is said to be ignoring the continuity of many of the sequels in the interest of creating a fresh and satisfying end to Michael's reign of terror. In short, you can forget about what you saw in 1998's HALLOWEEN: H20, when Curtis' character perished at the hands of one of horror's most influential silent killers. Oh, and don't worry about HALLOWEEN: RESURRECTION either, as the events of that film no longer play a part in what's to come. "Trick 'r Treat, motherfucker!"
HALLOWEEN will open in theaters on October 19th.
