Ant-man and The Wasp are suited up and ready for action in new set pics

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

We've still got some time before Marvel's ANT-MAN AND THE WASP is slated to make its theatrical debut, but that won't keep fans from buzzing about the latest behind-the-scenes look at the film's lead characters fighting crime in their snazzy, new super suits.

Today, several new photos were posted to Twitter have stars Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly looking battle-ready and poised for action. You can check out the photos from the original post here:

ANT-MAN AND THE WASP is of course the sequel to director Peyton Reed's 2015 Marvel film in which Scott Lang aka Ant-Man made his debut alongside Lilly's Hope van Dyne aka The Wasp. In the follow-up film, Scott Lang continues to search for a balance in which he can be both a Super Hero as well as a father. As Lang navigates the many trials and tribulations of his new lifestyle, Hope van Dyne and Dr. Hank Pym present an urgent new mission that finds the Ant-Man fighting alongside The Wasp to uncover secrets from their past.

While laying eyes on the updated suits isn't exactly a new experience, this is the first time we've been able to see Rudd sporting the new threads while filming. In my estimation, the new suit looks great, with the dimensions of the outfit being a much better fit for Rudd all around. If you think about it, Lang returning to superhero scene with a different look makes a lot of sense, seeing as the suit he wore in the original film had once belonged to Hank Pym, Lang's surly mentor and inventor of the Pym particle upon which the suit is powered.

Joining Rudd and Lilly for the sequel are returning cast members Judy Greer as Maggie, Michael Pena as Luis and Abby Ryder Fortson as Cassie, Scott’s daughter. Additionally, MCU newcomers Laurence Fishburne will step onto the scene as Dr. Bill Foster, with Walton Goggins as Sonny Burch, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost and Randall Park as Jimmy Woo.

ANT-MAN AND THE WASP will go big or go home in theaters on July 6, 2018.
