New artwork from James Jean for Darren Aronofsky’s Mother! arrives

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

On Monday, the first teaser trailer for director Darren Aronofsky's MOTHER! hit the internet, and I've got to say, I thought it was 30 seconds of pure domestic terror. Granted, I know just as much about the movie as you do, but I'm still really excited for it nonetheless.

Today, we've got some new artwork for the film from James Jean that depicts a stoic and rather burny Javier Bardem holding a crystal ball. I think the art itself is quite beautiful, even if the image leaves me feeling a might uneasy and wanting to check the smoke detectors in my home. You can view the image for yourself below:

In MOTHER!, a couple's relationship is tested when uninvited guests arrive at their home, disrupting their tranquil existence. From filmmaker Darren Aronofsky (BLACK SWAN, REQUIEM FOR A DREAM), MOTHER! stars Jennifer Lawrence, Javier Bardem, Ed Harris and Michelle Pfeiffer in this riveting psychological thriller about love, devotion and sacrifice.

For me, my favorite Aronofsky films include PI, THE WRESTLER, and BLACK SWAN. I've yet to see NOAH, and although I think it's brilliant, I can only view REQUIEM FOR A DREAM up until a certain point before I feel compelled to turn it off. I can usually handle most things, but there's too many things about that film that disturbs me to my core.

Additionally, be on the lookout for a brand-new trailer for Aronofsky's MOTHER! on August 8th. Then, expect the thriller to invade theaters beginning on September 15th.
