Only a few months ago we lost one of the sharpest wits, most unbreakable spirits and greatest cinema icons of all time – Carrie Fisher. Today STAR WARS is being celebrated in Florida with a star-studded event, and naturally a fond memorial was held in honor of her, and in case you missed here is the touching and tear-jerking video for your viewing pleasure. Grab a box of tissues, or ten.
I can’t imagine there will ever be a time when Fisher’s death isn’t raw. She remains not only one of the most iconic symbols of one of the greatest cinematic achievements of all time, but she will forever be marked as an emblem for strong, confident, heoric women everywhere. If I ever have a daughter I will show her STAR WARS and hope she sees that in Leia, as so many young girls have. At the very least it will give her inspiration for a great Halloween costume. Parenting level 10.
