Written and directed by Damien Chazelle (WHIPLASH), LA LA LAND tells the story of Mia (Emma Stone), an aspiring actress, and Sebastian (Ryan Gosling), a dedicated jazz musician, who are struggling to make ends meet in a city known for crushing hopes and breaking hearts. Set in modern day Los Angeles, this original musical about everyday life explores the joy and pain of pursuing your dreams.
Damien Chazelle did a hell of a job putting WHIPLASH together and writing the screenplay for 10 CLOVERFIELD LANE, so I'm really pumped to see what he has in store for us regarding this musical. I feel like it's been a hot minute since we've had really solid musical come our way, and LA LA LAND looks like it's packing the necessary visuals. We know that Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone have the chemistry, so here's hoping the songs hold up!
LA LA LAND opens in theaters on December 16, 2016.
