The first TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES reboot flick made some decent money, but strayed a little too far from what people knew and loved about the franchise. Enter OUT OF THE SHADOWS, a sequel that actually looks to right a lot of the wrongs from the first film, and bring a much greater sense of fun to the proceedings. I grew up on the cartoon and the original flicks, like a lot of folks here, and dare I say that it looks like they’re headed in the right direction with this franchise! There’s still that “Michael Bay sheen” from the first film, but it doesn’t feel as if they’re trying to be “bigger and badder” with OUT OF THE SHADOWS. If anything, the events here seemed to be ripped straight from the cartoon, and that’s the way it should be!
