Every time a new Terrence Malick movie is on the horizon, the cinefiles trip all over themselves in order to tell everyone else how great Malick is as a filmmaker and blah blah blah… I’m sure you’ve heard it all before. Now I’m not speaking ill of Malick at all, but you have to admit… The drool becomes a bit excessive sometimes.
I imagine I’ll have to wade through plenty of it as I give you the new trailer for his latest KNIGHT OF CUPS. It looks visually incredible, as all Malick pictures do, but, as far as Broad Green selling me on going to see it when it hits theaters next year, it’s not really doing its job. I have no idea what the hell this is about from this brief look. Then again, maybe they’re hoping Malick’s name does all the talking. If so, you know the audience you’re going to get already, and I’m sure they’re fine with what they’re getting here.
