Over 30 new Jupiter Ascending photos highlight a cameo from Terry Gilliam

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Many people are still questioning whether The Wachowskis’ JUPITER ASCENDING is worth their time. The visually impressive film looks like a blend of DUNE and STAR WARS crossed with CLOUD ATLAS and SPEED RACER. Still, the ambitious scifi tale could end up a box office bomb of JOHN CARTER proportions. But, for movie fans, this movie features a stellar cast that we now get a new look at thanks to over thirty brand new images.

Despite the marketing focus on Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis, these images give us new looks at other cast members like Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Douglas Booth, Oscar nominee Eddie Redmayne, and a first look at director Terry Gilliam who has a small role that supposedly pays homage to BRAZIL. As a huge fan of Gilliam’s work, this is a pleasant treat as the Monty Python veteran doesn’t often appear on screen these days.

I am intrigued by JUPITER ASCENDING as it takes a lot to convince a studio to fund a film not based on a proven franchise. JUPITER ASCENDING has already been pushed half a year which puts people on guard as to whether the movie is going to be god awful. The wide array of alien creations and the sheer beauty of the set design and costumes at least makes JUPITER ASCENDING worth a peek.

JUPITER ASCENDING hits theaters on February 6, 2015.
