Check out the new paranoia-soaked international trailer for It Follows

Each year, there are a handful of horror movies that defy convention and really bring something special to the genre. Last year, that movie was THE BABADOOK. This year, IT FOLLOWS looks like it could be a strong contender for that honor. Back in December, we got a look at the first international trailer for the movie and today we have a new glimpse at the horror flick.

Where the first trailer was more of a tease full of menace and haunting imagery, this new trailer follows the more formulaic structure you would expect from a film preview. But, despite some similarities to movies like THE RING, IT FOLLOWS looks very unique.

After a date and seemingly innocent sexual encounter, 19-year-old Jay is left with an inescapable sense that someone, or something is following her. Jay and her friends team up to try and find ways escape the traumatising horrors that are always right behind them.

David Robert Mitchell‘s film may share more in common visually with something like UNDER THE SKIN or THE VIRGIN SUICIDES than anything else which should be all the more incentive to see this movie as soon as it is released. With a cast mainly comprised of unknowns, this could be a sleeper hit.

IT FOLLOWS opens domestically on March 13th, 2015.
