Paul Thomas Anderson's (THE MASTER, BOOGIE NIGHTS) latest is right around the corner and if I was a betting man, I'd say that INHERENT VICE looks like one of his most fun films to date! The movie centers around the drug-abusing Larry "Doc" Sportellow (Joaquin Phoenix) as he investigates the disappearance of an ex-girlfriend in 1970s Lost Angeles. While the banners we've seen thus far have been pretty spot-on in nailing the vibe, these paintings are easily the best piece of marketing to come from the film, as well as being some of the greatest posters of the year.

The film boasts a fantastic ensemble, consisting of no less than Joaquin Phoenix, Josh Brolin, Owen Wilson, Katherine Waterston, Reese Witherspoon, Benicio Del Toro, Martin Short, and Jena Malone, among others. Futhermore, JoBlo's own Chris Bumbray has nothing but great things to say about the flick if you're a fan of PTA's work (check out the review here). Sounds like the first must-see movie of 2015 is less than 2 weeks away!

INHERENT VICE will be released on January 9, 2015.
