Michael Mann‘s (COLLATERAL, HEAT) latest is set within the world of global cybercrime, following a furloughed convict (Chris Hemsworth) and his American and Chinese partners as they hunt a high-level cybercrime network from Chicago to Los Angeles to Hong Kong to Jakarta. This film looks like COLLATERAL but has the epic scope of HEAT, all while traveling throughout the world. I’ve always been a fan of Michael Mann‘s style, and while PUBLIC ENEMY was a bit of a misfire in my opinion, the man always puts together a great ensemble of characters, and knows how to shoot action scenes in such a way that puts viewers on the edge of their seats! Hemsworth is a fine actor and I’m looking forward to seeing what kind or rogue justice his brings this cyberterrorist in BLACKHAT!

BLACKHAT will be released on January 16, 2015.
