Now that director Ridley Scott is making the promotional rounds for his latest feature, EXODUS: GODS AND KINGS, the questions are popping again for sequels that may be in his future. Namely, BLADE RUNNER 2 and PROMETHEUS 2. While Scott has only stated "it's written and it's really good" in regards to BLADE RUNNER 2, it seems he has a little bit more to say regarding the follow-up to the pseudo-prequel to ALIEN. The pre-sequel?

Ridley Scott on the story for PROMETHEUS 2:

It’s fresh. Getting away from gods and dragons and shit. If I see one more dragon I’m going to shoot myself. Stop the dragons. So with PROMETHEUS 2 what I’m trying to do is reintroduce a fresher form of alien in the third act.

I'm curious to see what Scott means by "a fresher form of alien", but either way, I'm first in line if this movie gets made. After he's done promoting EXODUS, Scott will then shoot THE MARTIAN which is looking at a November 25, 2015 release date. Twentieth Century Fox still has an unanounced Ridley Scott project slated for March 4, 2016.  Whether that's going to be PROMETEUS 2, BLADE RUNNER 2, or something else entirely is still up in the air. You'd think given the amount of post that those two films would require there wouldn't be enough time.  On the other hand, Steven Spielberg started shooting WAR OF THE WORLDS a mere 7 months before its release, so anything's possible.

Ridley Scott's EXODUS: GODS AND KINGS, will hit theaters on December 12.
