Last we heard of STOKER and OLDBOY director Park Chan-Wook, he was gearing up to helm a Korean adaptation of the Sarah Waters novel "Fingersmith." While it's unknown if those plans have changed just yet, it looks like he'll also take a dip in the Sci-Fi pool with SECOND SON. Based on an original screenplay by David Jagernauth, SECOND SON takes place in a futuristic world in which neural microchip implants are used to store one’s consciousness, leading to black market body-swapping.

While I wasn't a huge fan of STOKER, there's no doubts that Park Chan-Wook's sensibilities behind the camera made the movie THAT much better. The lens in which he views the world is different than most people's which always makes his films an intriguing watch, regardless of how you feel about the story. As far as science-fiction goes, something tells me this man will KILL IT. Here's hoping that's the case!
