Jeff Daniels and The Farrellys are up for another Dumb and Dumber sequel

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Looks like we may not have to wait twenty more years to see a sequel to DUMB AND DUMBER TO if things work out at the box office next weekend. At the recent premiere for the film, star Jeff Daniels and directors Peter and Bobby Farrelly glossed over the difficulties getting the film made, including the will he/won’t he Jim Carrey who finally agreed last year to the project.

In fact, both Daniels and The Farrellys made it seem like a third DUMB AND DUMBER may not be out of the question. While Jeff Daniels was more of the “if it happens, it happens” mentality, here is what The Farrellys said.

“Depending how this does, I could see doing another,” Farrelly said. “I just really enjoy this movie and working with those guys. Yeah, I could see doing it again.”

DUMB AND DUMBER TO is hitting theaters two decades after the original and in between, Jim Carrey has gone from one of the highest paid actors in Hollywood to scrounging for leading roles. Jeff Daniels has appeared primarily in dramatic roles like the HBO series THE NEWSROOM, but both actors look right at home in their iconic characters Harry and Lloyd.

Personally, I would love to see more movies from these guys, assuming DUMB AND DUMBER TO is funny and not just, well, dumb. We will find out when it hits theaters on November 14th.
