Gillian Jacobs is a femme fatale in the trailer for The Lookalike

Movies tend to get labeled as unworthy of your viewing time unless they are either big budget studio affairs or film festival entries. But, there are a good deal of movies that don’t fit into either category that are enjoyable and well made movies. THE LOOKALIKE looks like one of those movies.

Starring a pretty impressive cast including Justin Long, Jerry O’Connell, Gillian Jacobs, John Corbett, Luis Guzman, and Gina Gershon, THE LOOKALIKE is one of those movies you will likely encounter at your local Redbox or while browsing your On Demand options. This trailer makes it look like a nice little thriller with some black comedy elements to it.

Bobby (John Corbett) and Frank (Steven Bauer) are in big trouble. The gorgeous go-between for a major deal just got dead—and she’s part of the package. Like it isn’t hard enough to be a gangster—now they have to cast the perfect imposter to take her place, or there’s gonna be more bodies to clean up.

Jacobs, whose run on COMMUNITY looks to be wrapping up after the next season, is a nice actress who deserves some more roles. This looks like a more serious film for a lot of these performers compared to what they have done in recent years. It likely won’t be a movie either critically lauded or appreciated by fans, but THE LOOKALIKE could be a fun few hours.

THE LOOKALIKE hits theaters on November 7th.
