Supergirl TV series finds a home with CBS

If you can't get enough of superhero television, go ahead and add one more to the roster as the recently talked about Supergirl TV series has been scooped up with a series commitment from CBS. As The Hollywood Reporter states, the show will follow the exploits of Kara Zor-El who also evaded the destruction of Krypton and has been hiding on Earth, keeping the powers she shares with her cousin in check until . . . well, until CBS decided to front the bill for her to use said powers. Greg Berlanti, who executive produced both Arrow and The Flash, will be overseeing this show as well.

For those keeping track, that marks no less than five major networks with comic book properties. We have Gotham (Fox), Constantine (NBC), Arrow and The Flash (CW), Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Agent Carter (ABC) and Daredevil (Netflix). Obviously comics are a ridiculously hot property right now, although I think it takes a certain direction to pull it off on the small screen. A focus on character and drama is the only way to go, as there is no way TV can stand toe-to-toe with the action and effects that the likes of AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON and BATMAN V SUPERMAN can bring.

Whatever outfit they decide to roll with . . . I'm pretty sure they can't lose.
