Yesterday Marvel took to The View to drop off a tidbit of information and now they're aiming for The Colbert Report to deliver some news on "an all-new comic book title and all-new era for one of Marvel's most classic super heroes". Marvel's Chief Creative Officer, Joe Quesada, will be the one to deliver the news to Colbert at 11:30pm (ET) tonight. I think it's safe to say that The Colbert Report is the perfect patriotic pedestal in which to announce something of this magnitude.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the galaxy, we finally have a character poster for Michael Rooker's character, Yondu, who's been oddly absent until recently. While a member of the Guardians in the original comics, he looks to be playing a supporting role in this new iteration. I'm diggin' the colors, though. Michael Rooker's blue, Zoe Saldana's green . . . and for whatever reason you just immediately buy into it all. Props to the art department for creating that "lived-in universe" that's hard to capture in science-fiction films.

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY may or may not have me wondering if Michael Rooker has blue balls when it hits theaters on August 1, 2014.
