With the announcement that Disney and Pixar are currently developing a sequel to THE INCREDIBLES, fans immediately began to wonder if Brad Bird was going to be back as writer and/or director. Bird is currently finishing TOMORROWLAND for Disney and has been very closely tied to his original superhero film. While we still don't know if he will be back in a primary role, one of his stars from that film had some info about it.

In an interview with Digital Spy, Samuel L. Jackson revealed the following:

"Every time I run into Brad [Bird, director] he always tells me Frozone is part of what's going on, so I have to believe that," he said.

"I guess they could be the Incredibles without Frozone, but I think Frozone would be a wonderful addition to what's already there."

Jackson went on to say he wants to find out what has become of Jack-Jack in the decade since THE INCREDIBLES was released. But, the great thing about animation is that Pixar and Brad Bird could elect to pick up the story right in the same time frame as the original without skipping a beat. All of the voice actors have not changed to the point that they will sound different that in the original film and the child actors could always be recast. Whether they go with a direct sequel or years later, the odds are that THE INCREDIBLES 2 will be awesome. Hopefully with Brad Bird in the director’s chair.
