From concept to casting, the new Fox TV show Gotham has been an intriguing affair and today we have our first official look at one of the primary characters in the Batman-themed series, Detective Harvey Bullock as played by Donal Logue. Logue’s casting as the long-running character from the DC universe seems pretty spot on and the character description for the show feels like one he can inhabit with ease:

“Jim Gordon’s “rough-around-the-edges” partner and mentor, who ‘plays loose with police procedure, but he gets results… and he does it with old-school, forceful panache.'”

The series is currently shooting (see some set pics here) with Ben McKenzie as James Gordon, David Mazouz as young Bruce Wayne, Jada Pinkett-Smith as Fish Mooney, Robert Lord Taylor as Oswald Cobblepot, Camren Bicondova as young Selina Kyle, Sean Pertwee as Alfred Pennyworth, Barbara Kean as Barbara Gordon, Zabryna Guevara as Gordon’s boss Captain Sarah Essen, and Drew Powell as Butch Gilzean. Written and produced by The Mentalist’s Bruno Heller, the series pilot is directed by Danny Cannon (JUDGE DREDD, Nikita).
