Gina Carano kicks some ass in the trailer for In The Blood

Just yesterday, we brought you images and details on the new action movie IN THE BLOOD starring Gina Carano. A lot of comments called it a gender-reversed TAKEN and now that the official trailer is here, that seems to be a pretty spot on comparison.

While the production values seem to be mired in the direct to home entertainment range, IN THE BLOOD does seem to be a nice showcase for Carano’s brand of ass-kicking, with a nice range of supporting actors including Stephen Lang, Danny Trejo, Treat Williams, and Luis Guzman. Carano herself is looking damn good in everything from bathing suits and dresses to commando gear and boots.

Gina Carano stars as Ava, a trained fighter with a dark past. When her new husband (Cam Gigandet) vanishes during their Caribbean honeymoon, Ava uncovers a violent underworld of conspiracy in the middle of an island paradise. Armed with a deadly set of skills, Ava sets out to discover the truth – and to take down the men she thinks are responsible for his abduction, one by one.

Carano seems to be a lock for being one of the EXPENDABELLES when that movie gets off the ground, but it is a shame she doesn’t get larger projects on the level of HAYWIRE. She definitely has the chops to headline an action movie better than IN THE BLOOD. I don’t want to knock the film, but there are several places in this trailer where it just seems like they may have run out of money and had to use stock sound effects.

I hope I am wrong and I will be giving IN THE BLOOD a shot when it hits iTunes and VOD on April 4, 2014.
