Even though filming is underway, another key role has been cast in Peter and Bobby Farrelly‘s DUMB AND DUMBER TO. Joining Jim Carrey, Jeff Daniels, Laurie Holden, and Kathleen Turner will be funnyman Rob Riggle. Riggle will play dual roles in the anticipated sequel: a handyman named Travis and his unstable brother, Captain Lippencott.

I can already hear Lloyd Christmas saying the name Captain Lippencott and it makes me smile. Fans have been responding very positively to the first photos from the set of DUMB AND DUMBER TO despite how much older the actors look. We also know that there is some sort of subplot involving Holden’s character and the murder of her husband. Up until now that was all we knew, but here are some more details about the story.

Dim-witted best friends Lloyd and Harry hit the road to find Harry’s long-lost daughter to donate a kidney for a transplant.

If you remember the first movie (and the awful prequel WHEN HARRY MET LLOYD), Freda Felcher was the little filly who broke Harry’s heart. Maybe she could be the mother? We know there was a relationship between her and Lloyd as well, so that could make for an interesting storyline.

DUMB AND DUMBER TO will hit theaters next year for the original’s 20th anniversary.
