The trailer for Grudge Match puts Robert De Niro and Sylvester Stallone in the ring for one final bout

Yesterday we received our first official look at Robert De Niro and Sylvester Stallone in GRUDGE MATCH. I also kind of had a feeling that today we would get a trailer, and in fact we got one.

What’s the verdict? In my opinion, not too bad. There’s obvious mo-cap when the younger versions of the actors are shown. The jokes aren’t of the laugh out loud variety. I like how it begins. Both of the boxing legends accidentally reunite when they are both asked to do some work for a video game. That leads to the guys reigniting their feud and eventually a final match.

I was hoping yesterday that Jon Bernthal would be playing De Niro’s son, and he is. Also, is it just me or is Kim Basinger still looking pretty good?

Synopsis: A pair of aging boxing rivals are coaxed out of retirement to fight one final bout — 50 years after their last match.

GRUDGE MATCH is due in theaters on December 25, 2013.
