I was going to start by talking about how Ashton Kutcher tends to get slapped around on movie sites (although he has earned it at times), but really I want to focus on the positive here and on this awesome speech he gave at the Teen Choice Awards on Sunday. Kutcher was there to accept the Ultimate Choice Award and he delivered a powerful and motivational speech to the teen audience. He talked about his experiences and what he learned as "Chris" (Ashton is his middle name), before he was an actor. He goes on to say that "Opportunity looks a lot like hard work" and "The sexiest thing in the entire world is being really smart. And being thoughtful and being generous. Everything else is crap, I promise you." He continues with some other words of wisdom and in general comes off as very humble and appreciative of where he is today.

A cynic might say that Kutcher's message was probably ignored since most of the girls in the audience were too busy shrieking to pay attention, or that he's just trying to promote JOBS by coming across as thoughtful, i.e. not Kelso. But his speech isn't self-serving in my opinion, and he seems a little nervous at times which makes me think that what he said truly came from his heart and isn't some act. Shit, even Rush Limbaugh is impressed. Maybe he was inspired by Steve Jobs or maybe he just wanted to say something that could have a positive impact on these young people's lives, but either way Ashton Kutcher deserves some respect for his speech. Cheers dude.
