Here’s another look at Naomi Watts as the late Princess of Wales in Diana

Nothing has come out of the biopic DIANA since early last year when we got our first look at Naomi Watts are the late Princess of Wales. They were just set photos, but still gave us an idea of whether the actress fit the bill or not.

Our first official look of the actress in the role shows Watts actually in make-up and looking more the part. The film centers on, “Diana’s covert love affair with Dr. Hasnat Khan (Naveen Andrews, LOST), a Pakistani heart surgeon. This happened in the last two years of her life, before she met Dodi Fayed, and the need for privacy led to her meeting her lover in disguises. This gave her a sense of living an anonymous life, but her incredible worldwide fame became an issue.”

Entertainment One just picked up US distribution to the flick after it was screened in its entirety at Cannes. Not sure if Watts performance is creating Best Actress Oscar buzz, however, Deadline lists Judi Dench for PHILOMENA, Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts for AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY, Oprah Winfrey for THE BUTLER, and Nicole Kidman for GRACE OF MONACO as being names that are catching some attention.

A trailer for DIANA should be soon to come. Check out the photo below.
