Is Charlie Hunnam the top choice for the big screen version of The Flash?

While JUSTICE LEAGUE still seems a long way off, Warner Bros is still working on getting all of the pieces together for their big comic book team movie. With MAN OF STEEL aimed to re-introduce Superman to audiences, some of the lesser known heroes need to get their faces out there. One in particular is The Flash. Now, those of you even superficially versed in comics know who the Fastest Man Alive is, but getting an actor to fill the red and gold suit is integral to selling it to mass audiences.

While nothing is confirmed, rumors have it that PACIFIC RIM’s Charlie Hunnam is being used as the model for concept art featuring The Flash, according to CHUD. Concept art typically is made with the star who will be playing the role in mind, but it is not unheard of to use an actor’s face just for artistic purposes. Seeing as Warner Bros. is developing JUSTICE LEAGUE and all other DC Comics films and that Charlie Hunnam is appearing in Guillermo Del Toro‘s PACIFIC RIM and CRIMSON PEAK, he may just be the guy du jour for the artists. Or, he could be in contention for the role.

Hunnam is poised to hit it big with PACIFIC RIM this summer and is already a favorite on FX’s SONS OF ANARCHY. The British actor does a pretty damn good American accent and already has the body for a superhero role. I think this would be one hell of a choice. He is not top tier famous (yet) but definitely has the looks and acting chops for this part.

CHUD also theorizes that Charlie Hunnam could be a good fit for DARK UNIVERSE/JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK for Guillermo Del Toro, possibly as John Constantine. I can see that, but I would prefer him as The Flash. What do you guys think?
