Well, it may not compare to the red-band trailer for THIS IS THE END, but at least you can show this new green-band version to your grandma, although it’s suggestive enough to still offend. And that’s a-okay for me. Tossing in the lion’s share of big-name comedians into one film and playing themselves may seem like a recipe for disaster, but with this crew, I think it’s a recipe for raunchy goodness. If you’re a fan of PINEAPPLE EXPRESS or SUPERBAD, both of which were penned by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, then it’s likely that THIS IS THE END will suit you just as well.
Prepare for the end:
When I first heard of this project it felt pretty gimmicky. And, it still feels gimmicky, but that doesn’t stop it from looking funny as shit. Between all the big explosions, car chases, and superhero antics that we’ll be showered with this summer, I’m happy to see that there are at least a few contenders like THIS IS THE END bringing the laughs.
